Upcoming publications from the European Network of Paediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency

In early February 2015, we reported that the European Network of Paediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency (Enpr-EMA) has created several Working Groups within its organization with the aim of developing pragmatic responses to some of the needs relating to paediatric medicines research that can be implemented within 6-12 months.
In a newsletter published on the 10 March 2015, Enpr-EMA has outlined several activities for the year 2015. These include commitments to several publications in scientific journals. Below is the list of proposed publications by Enpr-EMA:
- The working group “Dialogue and interaction with Ethics Committees” has proposed a journal publication on the legislative surroundings of the informed consent requirements for pediatric clinical trials and the variation in requirements for consent / assent in achieving ethical approval across EU member states.
- The merged working groups “How to establish communication between Enpr-EMA, networks and industry” and “Sharing good practices within Enpr-EMA and with industry” decided to publish the outcome of a survey on the examples of good practice and the list of ideal services that the networks can provide.
- The joint working group “Network funding, sustainability and FP7 Projects” has planned to draft a manuscript on the business model of 5 successful networks. The outline of the manuscript focuses on the needs for funding a successful networks and how resources and time are managed by successful networks.
